Last Week's Results:

The Varsity team had a few games over the holiday break starting with a drubbing of Bishop Watterson on December 23, 12-1, that only lasted two periods due to the mercy goal differential. A Friday matchup with the Olentangy Braves resulted in a 2-2 tie thanks to a late game tying goal from Will Howard. The last game of the break resulted in a 4-2 loss to Olentangy Liberty which was a tied contest with three minutes left in the third period before Liberty pulled ahead for good and added an empty net goal to seal the victory.

Congratulations to sophomore goalie Dylan Bell for winning the Columbus Dispatch's Athlete of the Week award for the week of December 16-22. Here's the Dispatch article.

JVA competed in the Brother James Memorial Tournament held at Gilmour Academy just after Christmas and started with a 7-3 win against Tri-County on Friday, December 27. With two games on Saturday, they lost the morning game versus the Dayton Stealth 4-2 before dropping the afternoon matchup with St. Ignatius 4-1. Playing early Sunday morning, JVA faced St. Edwards and lost 8-1 before returning home. It was a tough weekend playing with a short bench, but the players left it all on the ice against quality opponents. 

JVB played their first home game of the year at the Ice Haus on Saturday, December 28 against Dublin Coffman and lost 5-3.
