Each of the three St. Charles hockey teams kicked off the regular season with games on Friday, November 14 and all three came away victorious. If you haven't already, be sure to check out the home page each week for a compilation "Clips of the Week" video located just below the latest news updates!
Last Week's Results:
Varsity took on defending state champs Upper Arlington at the Ice Haus in the latest iteration of this classic rivalry. Last year, each game against UA ended in a tie until SC fell in 5 overtimes during the State semi-final game. Thanks to the revised high school OT rules (3 on 3 for 5 minutes sudden death), SC was able to secure their first overtime win in well over a year thanks to a Will Howard snipe that ended things before UA could even get a shot off.
With no score through two periods, the game felt destined for overtime before Simon Keller punched in a well-timed backhand off a rebound to start the scoring. After a UA goal off a breakaway, Tommy Scharfenberger added the go-ahead goal with about 3:30 left on the clock which looked like it might hold up until UA pulled their goalie for a man advantage and scored the equalizer with 33 seconds left in regulation on a mid-air tipped deflection in front of goalie Dylan Bell. Bell's 28 saves and the SC defense pairings helped keep the high-powered Golden Bears offense at bay.

SC White took the ice prior to the Varsity game last Friday and wasted no time in pulling away from Upper Arlington with a 5-1 triumph. Goals were spread out evenly with Tommy Pillifant, Evan Korosec, Ewan Singleton, Fritz Oberhammer & Kellen Finegan finding the back of the net. Saturday's contest with Dublin Jerome resulted in a 5-2 win and contributions from Korosec, Mykolas Jackson, Hoffman, Singleton, and Pillifant accounting for each goal.
Next up: Olentangy Braves at 6:00pm at the Ice Haus on Friday, November 21.
SC Red won both of their games as well – an 11-1 drubbing over Columbus Academy on Friday followed by a commanding 7-1 win over Newark on Sunday.

That's an undefeated weekend for the program as a whole to start the 2025-2026 campaign!
