Congrats to SC White for claiming the championship this past weekend in the Varsity Blue Division of the Chiller Thanksgiving Classic!
The final came down to a nail-biting shootout in which Leander Schearer (42 saves) denied 6 out of 7 attempts to seal it for the Cards while Ewan Singleton and Evan Korosec scored on their chances to knock off Gahanna – awesome job to the whole team on a great season so far!

Varsity:
The Varsity squad finished 2-1-1 in their Thanksgiving tournament in Bowling Green. After some zamboni issues pushed the initial game's start time of 3pm to 10pm on Friday, the Cards knocked off the host school with a goal courtesy of Jack Goodwin with under a minute left to pull off a 3-2 win.
Saturday morning saw an early 2-0 lead in the first against Team Ohio disappear in the second frame which is where the scoring ended, resulting in a 2-2 stalemate. The night game also featured a two goal advantage for the Cardinals before Villanova (Ontario) rebounded from a 5-3 deficit to pull away with a scoring barrage in the third period and an empty netter to hand the varsity Cards their first loss of the year.
Sunday's consolation game versus Findlay saw another two goal lead evaporate before Goodwin came through again with another clutch go-ahead goal late in the game (and a Jimmy Zink empty netter) to secure the 4-2 win.

SC White:
Before the excitement and intensity of the final, the SC White tournament kicked off in style with a solid 6-1 victory over Anthony Wayne's varsity team on Friday evening. Saturday started off with another overtime game where the Cards prevailed against NE Storm by a final tally of 4-3 after Jake Zink scored the only goal during the shootout and netminder Kaleb Scott turned away all the chances he faced!
Saturday's second game saw a 4-0 win versus Avon with Schearer pitching the shutout in net for the Cards. That led to the fantastic championship game with Gahanna detailed above and an unblemished mark to the season so far!

SC Red:
SC Red also played four games this past weekend. Friday resulted in a hard fought battle against Olentangy Berlin, falling in a shootout 4-3. Saturday featured a close loss to Mayfield in a high scoring affair (7-6) followed by another tight game (3-1) and defeat in a matchup with Olentangy Orange. After a trifecta of close matchups, SC Red took out their frustrations early Sunday morning in a resounding 10-0 win against the NE Storm.
