All three St. Charles hockey teams took the ice this past weekend and fared well in each contest! Read below for a brief summary of each team's matchups.
Last Week's Results:
Varsity:
Friday night saw a tough matchup with Olentangy Liberty in what ended up being the first home game for this group – they were the visiting team against UA for the first game of their regular season. After staking themselves to a 2-0 lead in the first thanks to goals by Alex Martin and Jamison Dehart, things got hectic when Liberty managed an odd man rush and short-handed goal to tie things at 2 apiece in the second period. The game winning goal was courtesy of a slick back hander by Patrick Megahan (view below) which resulted in a 3-2 final.
Saturday featured another late start time, but this contest was more tame as Varsity netted a 5-0 shutout over Olentangy Orange. A hat trick by Will Howard followed goals by Tommy Scharfenberger and Gabe Sotak. That output combined with a shutout by goalie Dylan Bell helped carry the Cards to a 7-1-1 record in the early part of the season.

SC White:
Our SC White squad only had one contest this past weekend which resulted in a tie against Upper Arlington (1-1) on Saturday at the Ice Haus. Jake Zink started the scoring in the second period, before UA was able to tie things up with under a minute left in regulation. A solid effort in goal from Leander Schearer with 27 saves on the night helped preserve the tie. SC White remains unbeaten at 7-0-1 as we head into the second week of December.

SC Red:
SC Red took to the road for a late Friday night start with Moeller/St. Xavier and they picked up where they left off the previous Sunday by continuing to light up the lamp to win by a final of 7-1. After a day off on on Saturday, Red squared off with the Westerville Warcats and inflicted more punishment in a commanding 8-0 triumph. Keep up the great work boys! Those two wins bump them back over .500 with a record of 5-4-1 so far.
