Thanks to everyone who attended last week's Cardinal Skate and Alumni Game – both events were well attended and made for a fun evening at the Ice Haus!
Each St. Charles hockey team had mixed results last week with Varsity splitting their two games, SC White coming up just short in the final of their tournament and SC Red dropping their lone game of the weekend. Read below for more details...

Last Week's Results:
Varsity:
A narrow 2-1 victory over Olentangy Orange last Friday didn't have the Cards feeling all that festive, but they held onto the lead thanks to two goals from Will Howard and strong play from Dylan Fansler in net and a smothering defense.
The next day found the Cardinals in a lethargic matchup with the Olentangy Braves where it was 0-0 until the Braves scored with 34 seconds left in the contest. Both teams looked exactly like squads that were on Christmas break and there's not much else to add for this one.
The upcoming schedule this week will see quality matchups against Olentangy Liberty, Dublin Jerome and Upper Arlington.

SC White:
Our SC White squad played in a post Christmas tournament at Gilmour Academy. Action started on Friday, December 26 with a 7-0 blanking of St. Edward's with goals couresty of Jameson Hoffman, Max Spires, Simon Hurt, Zach Nusbaum, Max Schmitz, Fritz Oberhammer and Mykolas Jackson!
Saturday's morning game was a tight one versus the Dayton Stealth. Ewan Singleton's goal tied things at 1-1 before Evan Korosec's tally staked the Cards to a lead in the first period. Kellen Finegan found the back of the net to make things 3-1 before the Stealth got one back in the third. The Cards held on through some penalty kills to prevail 3-2! The afternoon matchup with North Coast Club was a lopsided affair as the Cards cruised in a 12-2 blowout. Evan Gaugh, Jake Zink, Ewan Singleton, Kellen Finegan (2), Evan Korosec (2), Simon Hurt, Zach Nusbaum (2), Evan Saad and Fritz Oberhammer all scored in this one.
Sunday's final featured a matchup with the home team and Gilmour didn't waste any time jumping out to a lead and keeping their foot on the pedal. The Cards dropped this one 5-1 with the lone goal scored by Evan Korosec.

SC Red:
After Thomas Worthington failed to realize they had double booked games on Saturday leading to that game's cancellation, SC Red played their only game on Sunday versus Athens that resulted in a 4-1 defeat.
