



Diego is the son of Fidel and Andrea Pitones. His dream is to attend a service academy to serve his country by becoming a pilot or Navy SEAL. He has loved every single moment of his time on the ice, especially here at St. Charles. Outside the rink you will most always find him working out or hanging out with friends. He would like to thank everyone that has helped him to where he is today and his family for driving thousands of miles and all the support. To his teammates, thank you for the unforgettable brotherhood which is everlasting. Go Cards!

Sam is the son of Cheryl and Jeff Carey. Sam has always loved being a part of a hockey team from the time he was Mite to his current brotherhood with St Charles Hockey. He has been voted “most likely to be last out of a hockey locker room”. His future college plans aren’t yet decided. Some favorites include Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Duke, Elon, and Miami. He plans to begin his studies in biochemistry. Besides hockey, Sam loves his family, his dog Ruby, fishing, golf, and just hanging out with friends. Sam’s favorite SC Hockey memories include Secret Santa during the Kent Tournament and any locker room activity. Sam would like to say “thank you to all of my team mates and coaches for 4 years of great memories and the chance to play and improve as a part of the St. Charles Hockey family”.

Alex is the son of Brian and Dee and younger brother to Michael. Although we know #18 as “Alex”, he is also known as “Jimmy” by his teammates. Alex began playing hockey in 3rd grade and has played all positions over the years, including goalie. Although Alex enjoys hockey, he mostly appreciates the close friendships developed, most especially with his brothers at St. Charles. When off the ice, Alex enjoys creative drawing, working at Graeters Ice Cream and hanging out with friends. He is looking forward to honing his entrepreneurial interests at a college yet to be determined. We wish him and all his senior teammates much success as they soon embark onto new adventures.




Nate is the son of Stephan and Rubi Polinsky. He has not yet selected a college to continue his academics, but he intends to study either law or medicine. He enjoys competing in hockey and lacrosse. His hobbies outside of sports are talking to girls and playing Xbox. He would like to thank his mother for driving to early morning practices on cold winter days and his father for their many long-distance trips to play soccer and hockey across the Midwest. He would also like to thank his Baba and Dido for their love and support, and he would particularly like to remember his grandfather Ilija who was such an inspirational part of his life.




Braeden has been on skates since he was a small boy of just 2 years old. His mom Karin, dad Daniel, sister Claire and younger brother Ewan are proud of all his hard work on and off the ice. Braeden plans to major in Mathematics and minor in Latin when he heads off to university next year. He would like to thank the St Charles hockey players, families, and coaches for all their support and great memories. GO CARDS!




John is the son of Amy and Tony Martin and resides in Westerville Ohio. He plans to major in Entrepreneurship in college, with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. John has several hobbies and interests, including fishing, kayaking, go-kart construction, hanging out with friends, and owns several different musical instruments. John is passionate about helping and being a mentor to others, especially his hockey family, which is the main reason why he decided to be a goalie. John would like to thank all of the family and friends in his life who have helped him be the person he is today.




Ambrose is the son of William and Selena Heyer. He has been playing hockey for 12 years and has loved every moment of competition on every team he has played for. In his free time Ambrose loves to hang-out with his friends. He would like to thank his parents and coaches for allowing him to play the best game in the world, and his teammates for being the best people to be surrounded by. Ambrose hopes to be able to finish out his last season and he will always remember the great time he had at St. Charles.

Ryan is the son of Jim and Kelly Lewis, and has an older brother, Matt. While still undecided in his college choice, Ryan wishes to pursue a degree in the biological sciences with the desire to attend medical school. Ryan has played hockey for over 8 years, and is thankful for the numerous opportunities and friendships the game has provided. He has loved his years at St. Charles, where he also played football and also played trombone in the jazz band. He thanks his parents for the countless years of helping him pursue the game he loves, and never giving up on him.

Chris “CB” is the son of Laura and Don Benson. He has earned competitive scholarship offers to attend Otterbein University or Ohio Dominican University and plans to major in Sports Management and minor in coaching or Theology. CB has played hockey for 12 years, and he was the inaugural Thomas Knox Award recipient at Saint Charles. It has been a dream come true for him to be a member of the Saint Charles hockey program. CB would like to thank his family, all of his teammates and coaches along the way, and especially Coach Riley Rentz and Coach John Rentz.

Niko is the youngest child of Jim and Kristin Fallieras and brother of Sophie and Elie, who are both in college. Niko started playing hockey when he was 7 years old after being dragged to the rink to watch his sister play, and decided he would shoot left so he didn’t have to use hand-me-down sticks! Next year Niko will study Business in college – hopefully living on campus and attending in-person classes. While St. Charles has provided Niko the drive and determination to succeed through adversity, the hockey program has influenced the value of teamwork and created lifelong friendships.

Brant is the son of Robert and Brett Shepherd. He has one older sister, two older brothers and a younger sister. Brant has been playing hockey since he was 4 years old. Not only does Brant play hockey he also plays ultimate frisbee for St. Charles. Brant enjoys playing video games and hanging out with friends. He also likes to fish, golf and play soccer. Brant is currently undecided on school but is looking to continue a study in computer science. He would like to thank his family for continued support, the coaches and teachers that have helped him succeed and for his friends that have made his time at St. Charles memorable. Brant will always remember when Rob pretended to fight Sam Mickey in the locker room... BUT the jury is still out on who would have won.

Blake is the son of Teresa and Breese Roller. This is Blake’s first year as a St. Charles Hockey player and has thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie of his teammates, the challenge of the sport and the support of the Hockey Coaches. Blake is also a 3-year Letterman on the St. Charles Lacrosse team. Blake plans to attend Wittenberg University next fall, study Business and play lacrosse for the Tigers. Blake enjoys his friendships with his St. Charles brothers, spending time with his family, gaming when he has time and golfing and fishing in the summer.
